I found out about you as part of my eMBA program at Valar, specifically your article on Positive Organisational Psychology fating back 2019.

The burnout and the madness of the capitalist system is the same thing I hit against, a few years ago. Took me years to reset. Let go most of my staff, shut down 2 6-figure projects, and dove into studying why work has become so toxic.

I found myself immersing in old spiritual disciplines of work and rest, the need of almost a "liturgical" lifestyle of living spiritually first, and descending to reality to do the work needed.

Been an interesting experience over the last 3 years, and got me thinking (writing and talking) on how theology can inform our work, and our work life balance.

Hi Igor,

I’m happy that post is proving a helpful teaching resource—thanks for letting me know. In my previous career, I always enjoyed my interactions with MBA students. I loved their brightness and hearing about their real-world industry experiences. And I dreamt of teaching about some of these more systemic issues I was seeing but figured I’d be setting myself up for a challenging career.

Feel free to share any of your work—I’d love to read where you’ve landed with this intersection between work and living a restful, spiritual life!

Our highest best active output only comes from how deep and well we can rest and charge. Everyone needs more naps on a blanket on the earth.
